Marjorie Valbrun

Marjorie Valbrun is Director of Media Relations and helps drive news coverage of efforts by America’s Voice to win comprehensive immigration reform. Before joining AV, she was a prize-winning journalist who wrote extensively about immigration, most recently as a contributing writer at TheRoot.com where she also wrote commentary about the intersection of race and politics. She has worked as a national correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, an editorial writer for The Baltimore Sun, a metro reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer and a general assignment reporter/occasional foreign correspondent for The Miami Herald, where she wrote widely about political developments in her native Haiti. She began her journalism career at the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel.

Marjorie’s articles have also appeared in The Washington Post, Newsweek, Newsday, Boston Magazine and other publications. She has done political commentary and analysis on National Public Radio, MSNBC, CBS-News, Fox News Channel, the British Broadcasting Corporation, Al Arabiya News Channel and Black Entertainment Television. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Journalism and was also a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, where she studied history and social policy.
