Marc E. Agronin

Psychiatrist, Miami Jewish Health Systems and Author of "How We Age"

Marc E. Agronin, MD is a nationally known geriatric psychiatrist who serves as the Medical Director for Mental Health and Clinical Research at theMiami Jewish Health Systems -- Florida's largest long-term care institution. He is also an affiliate associate professor of psychiatry and neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Agronin is a graduate of Harvard University and the Yale School of Medicine. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and in 2008 was named the “Clinician of the Year” by the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. He is the author of the acclaimed book How We Age: A Doctor’s Journey into the Heart of Growing Old (Da Capo Lifelong Books, 2011) as well as several professional books on Alzheimer’s disease and psychotherapy. Dr. Agronin has also published articles in the New York Times and Scientific American Mind, and his work has been featured in the New York Times, NBC’s Today Show, and National Public Radio’s “Talk of the Nation.” Dr. Agronin currently lives with his wife and three sons in Cooper City, Fla.
