Lawyer, law professor, mother to three boys

Lorri Shealy Unumb is a lawyer, law professor, and mother to three boys -- Ryan (13), Christopher (9), and Jonathan (6). Formerly a litigator with the U.S. Department of Justice, she now works full-time as Vice President, State Government Affairs for Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism research and advocacy non-profit organization. Lorri teaches a law school course called “Autism and the Law” at George Washington University Law School, and along with her husband Dan, wrote the first-ever comprehensive book on laws relating to autism, also called “Autism and the Law.” She has testified more than 100 times on autism-related health insurance issues in legislatures around the country.
