Lisa Schirch

North American Research Director, Toda Institute for Global Peace and Policy Research; Senior Policy Advisor on Human Security at Alliance for Peacebuilding; Research Professor of Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University

Lisa Schirch is North American Research Director for the Toda Institute for Global Peace and Policy Research, Senior Policy Advisor at the Alliance for Peacebuilding. Schirch is also a Research Professor at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University, and a US liaison at the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict.

A former Fulbright Fellow in East and West Africa, Schirch has worked in over 20 countries in conflict prevention and peacebuilding, most recently in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Lebanon. Schirch has written five books and numerous articles on conflict prevention and strategic peacebuilding. Schirch holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University.
