Laura R. Linder, an associate professor of media arts and production at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., is the co-author (with Mary Dalton) of "Teacher TV: Sixty Years of Teachers on Television." She is also the co-editor (with Mary Dalton) of "America View and Skewed: Television Situation Comedies." Her first book, "Public Access Television: America's Electronic Soapbox" (Praeger Publishing), was translated into Japanese in 2009.
