Joshua Conrad Jackson

Joshua Conrad Jackson is a PhD candidate and National Science Foundation graduate research fellow at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He graduated from McGill University with first class honors in 2013 and held research positions at the University of Otago and the University of Maryland before moving to North Carolina. Josh's research takes an evolutionary approach to studying culture, religion and morality. His previous papers have studied the formation of social groups, the origins of religious experience and the dynamics of cultural change, among other topics. Outside of research, Josh works as a core member of the non-profit organization Useful Science, which focuses on parsing and communicating brief, peer-reviewed summaries of scientific papers to large audiences.
