Joseph Vella is a spirited entrepreneur focused on the creation of original content and marketing strategies, unique audio and video production, podcasting and digital strategies. He ventured into the digital world in 1991 with the creation of Jazz Online, one of the internet’s earliest music sites and the first targeting the jazz audience. With this groundbreaking enterprise, Vella formed his company, Vella Interactive, and was called upon to advise a wide range of record companies and high profile musical artists to develop their earliest online properties. In addition, he orchestrated many digital music industry firsts. In addition, he pioneered early online radio and video channels as well as several trend setting podcast series featuring The Beach Boys, John Coltrane, Michael Jackson, Stephen Sondheim, Elvis Costello and Yo-Yo Ma. Along with his work as a content producer and strategist, he develops digital curriculum as well as teaches master classes at NewYork University.
