Rev. John Dear is a long time peace activist and the author of 35 books on peace and nonviolence, including "The Beatitudes of Peace," "The Nonviolent Life," "Walking the Way," "A Persistent Peace," "The God of Peace," and "Disarming the Heart." He has been arrested 80 times for nonviolent civil disobedience to war and nuclear weapons; traveled the war zones of the world; served as pastor of churches in New Mexico; and lectured to hundreds of thousands of people.
