Chief Executive Officer, HuffPost

Jared is the Chief Executive Officer of HuffPost. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia Business School, specializing in corporate strategy applied to the technology and media sectors, a mentor at Techstars, and an angel investor in several promising start-ups. Previously, Jared helped lead several of the world’s most innovative companies. He was the Head of Corporate Development and General Counsel of Spotify, the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer of AOL, and a member of the executive team responsible for Google's multi-billion dollar advertising business in the Americas. He also co-founded Shake, a venture-backed legal technology company that was acquired by Legal Shield in 2015. He has received several notable industry awards. He was named by Adweek to the 2015 class of Young Influentials, which recognizes “27 individuals from media, marketing, tech and entertainment who are remaking business and culture.” He was recognized by Fortune/CNN Money as one of "five of tech's most powerful lawyers.” He was honored by Business Insider, three times, to the Silicon Alley 100 List, an annual list of the 100 “coolest and most influential” people in NY Tech. He was listed by TechWeek on its Top 100 List based on his “significant impact on the technology and innovation ecosystem.” Jared spent the early part of his career specializing in technology and corporate transactions at Capgemini North America and at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He received a MBA from Columbia Business School, a JD, with Honors, from the University of Chicago Law School, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. He enjoys competing in marathons, Ironman-distance triathlons, and tennis.
