Jana Novak spent more than a decade working in politics as speechwriter, communications director, and senior policy advisor for several prominent national politicians, including members of leadership on both the House and Senate sides of the U.S. Congress. She is also the co-author of the 1998 book, Tell Me Why (Pocket Books), and the 2006 book, Washington’s God (Basic Books). Recently, she served nearly five years as the chief operating officer of a small business based on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Previously, she held editorial positions at several national or local magazines, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Duke University.
