Jacob Hashimoto was born in Greeley, U.S.A. in 1973. He lives and works in New York.
Jacob Hashimoto realizes large-scale installations by assembling together paper and bamboo elements. Held together by a complex system of chains, wooden structures, and rods anchored in the walls, these elements make up fragments of natural and artificial landscapes consisting of colored patterns and geometrical and plantlike motifs. His work embodies his interest in an art that derives from the intersection of abstraction and figuration, painting and sculpture.
Jacob Hashimoto is presenting a new big scale site-specific installation titled GAS GIANT at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice, at the same days as the 2013 Venice Art Biennale (www.jacobhashimotovenice.com).
