Jack Antonoff is the guitarist for the budding indie-pop group fun. as well as the front man of cult favorite, Steel Train. Currently prepping for the release of fun.’s new record, Some Nights, Jack and his band mates have been praised for their ability to meld an array of diverse inspirations into their own irresistible and freewheeling pop songcraft. The band drew immediate attention for their contemporary rethinking of classic '70s pop, where ornate arrangements and inspired orchestrations meet present-day rock ‘n’ roll. The lead single from Some Nights, "We Are Young," featuring Janelle Monáe, has proven to be a hit at alternative radio and a mainstay at MTV, and the song was recently featured in an episode of Glee. Jack and fun. have also been vocal advocates for marriage equality and other LGBTQ rights over the years, donating merchandise sales from fun. to organizations such as Revel and Riot to help promote LGBTQ rights, awareness, and equality. fun. will be heading out on a U.S. headline tour in late February 2012, traversing the country in support of the release of Some Nights, which arrives everywhere Feb. 21.
