Eric Villency

Villency Design Group

Eric currently serves as principal of the Villency Design Group, a fully integrated design firm that works on projects across a broad spectrum of disciplines including product development & manufacturing, new media, industrial design, fashion apparel & accessories and hospitality design. Villency has been the recipient of several design awards including the FIT "All Star Salute" award as well as the IFDA "design Industry" award. Eric has also lectured at FIT and the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Design Work
Eric has worked on several notable commercial, residential and hospitality design projects including: The Rudy Giuliani Urgent Care Unit at St. Vincent's Hospital (New York); Delta airlines Crown Lounges in Miami and Raleigh; The Benz Star lounge at Mercedes-Benz fashion week (New York & Miami); The Club level lounge at Citifield (the new stadium for the New York Mets); Starwood brands including W hotels and Sheraton; The Bryant Park Hotel; the Plaza private residences, The Ritz Carleton Palm beach and offices for Kathy Lee Gifford and Ben Silverman. He is currently developing @250 a boutique retail development with tenants including Soul Cycle, Organic Avenue, and Kidville among others along one of the most heavily trafficked roads in the country. As Principal of the Villency Design Group Eric has overseen the design and development of several prominent products including the acclaimed new indoor cycling bike for Soul Cycle, the rework of Organic Avenue’s signature glass bottle, The CFDA’s Fashion Target’s Breast Cancer campaign and products for the W hotel stores.
Television
Eric has produced and hosted segments on a wide range of topics and interviewed notable subjects including Christiane Amanpour, Liv Tyler, Terrance Howard, Geraldo Rivera, NFL star Demarcus Ware, John McEnroe, Iman and rapper lil Jon. Villency has appeared as a regular contributor on NBC's Today discussing a wide range of topics from lifestyle, and design trends, to fashion, and family issues. In Addition, he has appeared on Good Morning America, The Tyra Banks show, HGTV, Travel Channel, ABC Sports, Mike & Juliet, TBS and was the host of the Fine Living Channel's iDesign. Villency was a producer for the Documentaries State of Security about Richard Clarke and INSEAM The story of emerging fashion designers.
Magazines
Villency is a contributing writer for the Huffington Post. He has also been a Contributing Editor for Details magazine as well as Best Life Magazine. He has written for Departures Magazine, and Women's Health.
Fashion
The Villency Emerging Fashion program strives to foster emerging talent in the design world. Past participants in the program include Proenza Schouler, Derek Lam, Imitation of Christ, Thakoon, Ruffian and Erin Featherston. In 2007, Villency also founded his own fashion label, "Restoration Of the Monarchy”, which received critical acclaim and was subsequently purchased by Hartmarx (Ticker symbol: HTMX). Currently The Villency Design Group designs and manufactures both apparel and accessories for numerous clients in fashion, fitness and lifestyle.
Eric currently resides in New York City with his son, Ronan.
