Elissa Stein

Owner: High School 411, Author, Kidney donor, Education Advocate, Mom

Elissa Stein is an author, a consultant, an advocate, in short, a conversation starter. Her latest venture, High School 411, helps families navigate public high schools by demystifying the complicated and unwieldy process. The parent of two New York City public school students, she has also been PTA co-president at three different institutions, and has served on four PTA executive boards. She writes about education at Huffington Post, fights for equity and fair funding in New York City schools, and is the author of Flow: the Cultural Story of Menstruation, along with 10 additional books. Elissa is also a graphic designer, yogi, kidney donor, jewelry maker, baker of too many brownies, vintage coat collector, and has just finished writing her first screenplay. She lives in New York City with her family.
