Dwayne Clark

Dwayne J. Clark is an entrepreneur, executive producer, author and theater producer with a passion for telling true stories that inspire and uplift audiences. Clark is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aegis Living. He started the company with just two employees in 1997 and just celebrated a 20 year anniversary caring for more than 2,000 residents in 28 assisted living communities across the Western United States. Dwayne has gained national attention for innovating in an industry not generally recognized for innovation as well as creating a notable and newsworthy corporate culture. The company is the first in the industry to ever be ranked in the Top 50 Best Places to Work by Glassdoor this year. The national online employee review website honored Aegis Living amid 600,000 companies listed. His inspiration came from successful businesses models that he studied for world-class innovation and included Costco, Nordstrom and Starbucks. But with his knowledge that he brought from his prior years as executive vice president of Sunrise Senior Living and Leisure Care, he’s grown Aegis Living from a dream to a company with nearly 2-billion in real estate assets and over 2,100 staff members. Dwayne is also a creative entrepreneurial leader who has founded True Productions, a production company producing films, plays and books based on his passion for telling true stories. True Productions debuted the critically-acclaimed documentary Full Court: The Spencer Haywood Story that premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival. He’s also authored several books, including My Mother, My Son, soon to be a motion picture produced by Emmett / Furla / Oasis Films. Inspired by his mother’s philanthropic heart and her cooking, Clark launched the Seattle area’s first not-for-profit Queen Bee Cafes in Seattle. They are one-of-a-kind coffee and crumpet shops with 100% of the profits supporting neighborhood charities.
