President and Creative Director, David Stark Design and Production

David Stark is a renowned, New York based event producer as well as President and Creative Director of David Stark Design and Production. This full-service event design and planning firm is celebrated for the innovative, imaginative events it creates for a wide range of high-wattage celebrity clients such as Beyoncé Knowles and Jon Stewart, major corporations such as Target, TBS and Condé Nast, as well as high-visibility fund-raising galas for the nation's most elite not-for-profit organizations including The Museum of Modern Art and The Robin Hood Foundation.

In April 2010, Stark released his latest book, David Stark Design; a visually stunning monograph that documents David Stark Design and Production’s design philosophies, conceptual process, and breadth of work put forth since the Company’s inception in 2005. The book was published by Monacelli Press. His previous books include Napkins with a Twist (Artisan, 2006), To Have & to Hold: Magical Wedding Bouquets (Artisan, 2005), and Wild Flowers: Projects and Inspirations (Clarkson Potter).

In May 2010, Stark partnered with West Elm to debut The (purely paper) Flower Shoppe at their Broadway location in New York City. As his third collaboration with West Elm, Stark showcased flora, gardening tools, and plants made entirely from paper collected from books on the streets of New York. For two days only, the public was able to visit the installation where even the walls were constructed of paper and purchase the eco-friendly masterpieces Stark is known for.

Stark’s first product line, a holiday decorating collection with West Elm, debuted in stores late summer 2009. Inspired by Stark’s trademark approach of turning everyday materials into glamorous and unexpected installations, the collection included ornaments, garlands, table décor, and other elements made from natural, recycled, and eco-friendly materials. This summer, Stark collaborates again with West Elm for a collection that debuted at the end of March.

CBS’ The Early Show, The Today Show, The View, and Martha Stewart are several television shows that often call upon David to serve as a guest expert on décor, party planning, holiday decorating and home planting projects. David and his work are often featured in publications including the New York Times, ELLE DECOR, Glamour, Interior Design, In Style, House Beautiful and Town & Country, as well as on a number of design-focused blogs.
