David Gordon

Executive Director, Pacific Environment

David Gordon’s environmental activism began in the Pacific Northwest, preparing him for the last 17 years he has been with Pacific Environment. In 2003, Mr. Gordon was appointed Executive Director of Pacific Environment, where he has worked to establish Pacific Environment as a leading and internationally recognized environmental organization. Under his leadership, the organization has been spearheading environmental initiatives in Russia, China, Alaska and California and in the area of responsible finance.

In the last several years, programs focusing on Alaska and California have been created to help increase activism on oil and gas, fisheries and energy issues. David has shown himself to be a leader in Arctic issues and has participated in international discussions regarding arctic climate change. In addition, David has helped lead efforts to push for more corporate responsibility. Through Pacific Environment’s advocating an improvement in environmental standards, corporate responsibility has been improved in large, international corporations such as Shell, Exxon Mobil, Weyerhaeuser, and others.

Mr. Gordon has spoken at a number of conferences held in the US, has been interviewed for National Public Radio, Time Magazine, CNN, and has had editorials published regarding the work of Pacific Environment and crucial environmental issues.
