Daniel Musto

Wardrobe Stylist and Costume Designer, Fashion Star and Ready for Love

Daniel Musto is the Wardrobe Stylist and Costume Designer for NBC’s Fashion Star (first and now second season) and Eva Longoria's new show Ready For Love on NBC, which premieres next month. He is the main talent who runs the ship backstage, on stage and behind the scenes and makes sure everyone looks good on camera, during the show, etc. Daniel has a great part in the show, showing his fashion skills, creativity and leadership.

Daniel has been climbing his way up the fashion industry ladder since his dreams brought him from the rolling hills of the east coast to the endless beaches of Los Angeles. Daniel got his start as a styling assistant in Hollywood, which brought him the great honor of studying beneath some of the industry’s most influential stylists. Under the wing of David Thomas, he had the opportunity to work with the likes of Jack Nicholson, The Spice Girls, Kevin Bacon, Jessica Simpson, the Beckhams and Eva Longoria. While assisting stylist Emma Trask, Daniel moved into the world of television with a new project and title, Assistant Costume Designer for The CW’s Melrose Place. Since then, he has had the privilege of working with numerous major networks, publications and celebrities on the east and west coasts. His work has been seen on stars including Paula Abdul, Ashlee Simpson, Kendra Wilkinson and more. It has also graced the stages of American Idol and America's Best Dance Crew, as well as the pages of People and Rolling Stone magazines.

While Project Runway designers create complete looks for the runway, the contestants on Fashion Star focus on designing signature pieces each week. Part of Daniel's job is to creative direct their runway shows while completing the looks. Under the influence of the designers, while using his taste level to supply the best version of the overall message, he brings their designs to life. In addition to the contestants' runway presentations, Fashion Star also offers award show-level performances including dancers, musicians and other surprises. Daniel not only styles them, but was also valuable to the production as a creative influence on numerous concepts. For entertainment purposes only, the viewer will get the chance to catch a runway show from each of the mentors and the host. Daniel worked alongside them and their teams to bring you the most elaborate stage presentation of their Spring/Summer 2012 collections. While Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos, Nicole Richie and Elle Macpherson work with their own stylists, as the show's stylist, it is Daniel's job to assure that their images work with the image of the production. You will also get to see Daniel's work on the buyers who come from Saks, Macy's and H&M.
