Brad Jacklin

Project Director, New Beginning Initiative, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force

Brad Jacklin joined the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force in January 2010 as the project director for the New Beginning Initiative (NBI), the Task Force’s effort to change how the federal government treats and interacts with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and their families. Through technical assistance and coalition work, the NBI has successfully advocated for substantial changes in federal administrative agency policy to the benefit of LGBT people and families.



Previously, Jacklin served as a law fellow for Rep. Robert E. Andrews of New Jersey, where he advised the representative and his staff on financial services, pensions, housing, and health care. During law school, Jacklin spent two years with the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley working with HIV-positive clients on a broad range of issues, including consumer rights, public benefits, housing rights, and employment. He previously worked for the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, D.C., and has worked on state and local political campaigns. He obtained his juris doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in California, and his bachelor of science degree in business law from Indiana University.
