Barry Boyd, M.D.

Board-certified Oncologist/Hematologist

With 23 as a board-certified medical oncologist/hematologist and a Master's degree in nutritional biochemistry, Dr. Boyd has a recognized specialization in cancer treatment and recovery. Dr. Boyd is a pioneer in the field of integrative cancer care with a targeted focus on nutritional support for cancer patients. Incorporating emergent evidence-based medical oncology with cancer specific nutritional counseling he combines comprehensive support for the healing process.

Dr. Boyd enrolled in the Institute for Human Nutrition at Columbia University and received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his fellowship in HematologyOncology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York. Dr. Boyd is presently an attending physician at Greenwich Hospital – Yale Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Boyd is an assistant clinical professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Boyd was recruited to develop and direct the Nutrition and Integrative Medicine Curricula at Yale University School of Medicine which he directed through 2012. He continues as a lecturer in the Cancer Module in the second year, on Cancer Nutrition. In 2010, he was appointed Director of Cancer Nutrition for the Yale Health System and is developing a Center for Cancer Nutrition Education, in affiliation with the Yale Smilow Cancer Survivorship Program, devoted to providing standard of care, evidence-based nutrition guidelines for cancer patients at every stage in their disease, provide educational programs for health care providers as well as develop a clinical research program in cancer nutrition.

Dr. Boyd is founding president of The Integrative Cancer Care Research Foundation and a board member of Environment and Human Health, Inc., a nonprofit organization made up of physicians and public health professionals dedicated to the purpose of protecting public health from environmental harms. Dr. Boyd has also recently published a book entitled, The Cancer Recovery Plan.
