Co-Chair of NJDC's Women's Leadership Network, Former Communications Director for President Bill Clinton, Senior Advisor to Hillary Clinton's Presidential campaign

Ann Lewis was Founder and President of the No Limits Foundation, a non-partisan organization providing information and social networking on national and international issues, advocates for an active and engaged America, at home and around the world



Lewis was a Senior Advisor in the historic Hillary Clinton for President Campaign, where she oversaw outreach to women voters and to the Jewish community, and was a member of the Communications Team.



Lewis served in the White House from 1997 – 2000 as Director of Communications and then Counselor to President Bill Clinton. She was Director of Communications and Deputy Campaign Manager for the Clinton-Gore Re-Election Campaign in 1995- 1996, and Senior Advisor to the campaigns of Hillary Rodham Clinton for U.S. Senate in 2000 and 2006.



In 2001, Lewis was the Richman Visiting Professor at Brandeis University, teaching a course on the Presidency entitled “The West Wing and The Real World”; and a Public Policy Fellow at the Annenberg School of Communications of the University of Pennsylvania. As the National Chair of the DNC Women’s Vote Center from 2002- 2004, she led the Democratic Party’s major initiative to reach, engage, and mobilize women voters.



From 1994 to 1995, Lewis was the Vice President for Public Policy at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She previously served as Chief of Staff to then Congresswoman (now Senator) Barbara Mikulski of Maryland.



In 2009, Lewis was a member of the US delegation to the Holocaust Memorial Conference in Prague. She co-chaired the 2006 American/Israel Women’s Dialogue sponsored by the American Jewish Congress and the University of Tel Aviv, and was a member of the U.S. delegation to the "Dawn of a New Millennium" Conference in Reykjavik, Iceland.



Ann Lewis was appointed by President Clinton as Co-Chair of the President's Commission on the Celebration of Women in American History. She chaired the U.S. Government Working Group for the Women 2000: Beijing Plus Five Special Session of the General Assembly.



Lewis is a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for US Global Leadership, dedicated to building support for diplomacy and development. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 she co-led trips of progressive women to Israel , sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation.



She is a co-author of Campaigning for President , with David Gergen and Roberto Izurieta, published by La Crujila Edicione as Cambiando la Escucha.



She is also is the author of “The West Wing: An Insider’s View” in the Spring 2001 edition of Television Quarterly, the journal of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and other articles about American politics.



In 2002, Ann Lewis was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work on the script A Tribute to Heroes, broadcast on all networks following September 11, 2001. She received the Belle Moskowitz award from the National Jewish Democratic Council in 2009.
