Rock Paper Scissors

It seems to me that RPS is determined to be a movement and not just another organization. I found out that the RPS Team Members have all experienced some form of abuse which makes them powerful, passionate, and purposeful in their endeavors in assisting others. I know all too well how abuse can negatively affect one’s personal and social life, that is why I am passionate about their cause. The serious issues they address through the transparency of their personal stories are fear, rejection, insecurities, abuse, and injustices. This organization presents truthful stories of how others have experienced abuse and have overcome them. Their belief is that God wants them to share their deepest personal stories of abuse to help another.

Rock Paper Scissors (RPS) is a non-profit organization that focuses on the prevention and intervention of all forms of abuse and human trafficking. RPS recognizes that no abuse is greater than another and everyone deserves an opportunity to overcome. Kristal Clark the Founder and Executive Director states, “I truly believe the best way to reach people is to identify with them and my passion for this cause isn’t only having a heart for people, but personally understanding the stories of abuse and how deeply it affects one's life.” As her desire grew to help others she knew she would have to first face her past before she could help others change their future. Her journey started with taking the steps to change the way she viewed herself and the harvest of her self-improvement has produced a voice creating a platform through social media, outreach, as well as designing a t-shirt line to promote the cause. Through a variety of services and community partnerships, RPS seeks to create overcomers.

Here are some of the services that RPS freely offers:

• Advocate and create awareness

• Offers financial, physical, and emotional support

• Encourages a renewed sense of self through mentoring

• Hosts Survivor Support & Growth Groups

• Supplies image consulting

• Provides community-based referrals

• Engages in public speaking forums

The RPS platform also created a network of supporters that stand against injustice.

In today’s society, there are so many hurting individuals who want to be free from the pain of abuse and neglect. Some don’t know how to stop the cycle of abuse and in other cases, many are trapped and cannot get out. We can do something to help someone in need, pay attention to your loved ones and friends to see if you will have the opportunity to become a support for them. If you need help with any form of abuse please don’t hesitate t to ask someone for help.

Their motto is: No matter what you throw at me (ROCK), no matter how you try to crumble me (PAPER), or cut me down (SCISSORS), I am an Overcomer!
