Donald Trump continued his campaign against American democracy by saying that he still hasn’t made a decision about whether to accept the results of November’s election.
Pressed by “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos, Trump told him, “Don’t worry about it.”
“I’ll make that decision at the right time,” he said. “But we have a rigged system.”
During the ABC interview that aired Thursday, Trump also hit back at the countless allegations of sexual assault and harassment brought against him.
“Oh, give me a break,” he said. “They made up stories.”
The Republican presidential nominee first declined to say if he’d accept the election results during his third debate against Democrat Hillary Clinton. Later he said he would accept them ― “if I win.”
Trump has long insisted the election is “rigged,” perpetuating the myth of voter fraud ― despite ample evidence it isn’t a serious problem. His campaign has been recruiting “election observers” to keep an eye on polling sites ― a practice that critics have said is an attempt at voter suppression. The Ku Klux Klan, for example, employed this tactic to intimidate African-Americans.
