Auston Matthews Scores Four Goals In His First NHL Game

Not bad for starters.

Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews became the first National Hockey League player to score four goals in his first game, but it still was not enough to defeat the Ottawa Senators with Kyle Turris scoring 37 seconds into overtime to give the Senators a 5-4 victory.

“It’s pretty unbelievable,” Matthews said of his feat on SportsNet.

The 19-year-old rookie scored on his first two shots. Here’s the first one:
