Brielle Von Hugel musical journey began at 5 years old when she realized she liked to perform and entertain others. Her mother noticed this and nurtured her talent; encouraging her and taking her to talent competitions. Mom was her biggest cheerleader.

At 16, Brielle Von Hugel competed on the biggest stage of her life - American Idol Season 11 becoming one of the Top 12 girls’ semi-finalists. Although she did not win, she found the experience to be a positive one and a boost for her career. But, not everyone celebrated her success and when she returned to high school the bullying intensified. You see, Brielle Von Hugel had always been bullied since middle school because of her appearance and competing on American Idol brought those bullies out in droves.

However, instead of letting that negativity deter her or break her she channeled that negativity into a creative force and poured it into her craft, becoming one with her music. She was sending a message to the haters and naysayers loud and clear that she was here to stay and nothing they can say or do will ever stop her.

As she continued on her journey, she got a record deal with F.R.E.E.D.O.M. Records proving that hard work and determination pays off even in the face of adversity. Her new single “Stronger (Growing Pains) feat. B.o.B.” is an anthem chronicling her journey as an artist and a message to others that have been bullied that you can make it through if you just believe in yourself. She was inspired to write the song after an industry person told her that her music was not good enough.

Of her single Brielle Von Hugel said, “My message behind the song is to use the negativity from haters to fuel your passion to pursue your dreams.”

Brielle Von Hugel has used her experiences to help other teens in similar situations. Brielle Von Hugel also gives back by supporting T.E.A.L Walk/Run for Ovarian Cancer where she will be performing September 10 in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY.

As you can see, overcoming negativity, haters and setbacks along her musical journey made Brielle Von Hugel stronger and the best is yet to come.
