What’s even worse, after numerous studies, it is estimated that 9 out of 10 people who lose weight, just gain it back within 1 year.
So what is the secret to long term weight loss?
After losing 40 pounds and coaching others, since successful, others not; I have compiled the 5 must have ingredients to long term success. You can apply these to any area of your life to see results.
Vision - the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be.
All successful people have a vision of where they are going. This is more than losing 5-10 pounds. This is your long term vision. Solidify that vision in your mind by any means possible.
On the days you don’t feel like working out, remember the vision of why you started.
Belief - confidence. Trust. Faith.
One must have fill faith, confidence and belief in himself to carry out the vision. Your actions are directly related to your beliefs. If you are constantly self sabotaging, check in with your beliefs about yourself.
Who do you need to become too carry out your vision? You will need to step onto that person.
Drive - push. Force.
Success comes to those who take action, consistently. Behind every successful person is a driving force of action. Without action, you will be in the same place as last year. But drive is what keeps you going when things are hard. Drive is that one last Rep to failure. Drive is the commitment to get up every day when everyone else is sleeping in.
Support - to sustain under trial of affliction
When things get hard, there will be done that try to take you down with them and there will be others that lift you up. Who you surround yourself with can literally make or break you.
Surround yourself with those that are fighting the same game.
Lifestyle - the habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards and economic level that together constitute the mode of living of an individual.
The last crucial piece for success is your lifestyle. This is the difference in the dreamers and the doers. This is the one that trips up most people. This is the key difference between the chronic dieters and those that keep the weight off. Build your lifestyle around your new habits. When you build your lifestyle around your goals, you will start to do them without thinking about it - it comes something you just do.
Sometimes we make success seem harder than it actually is. It boils down to how bad you want it.
Get focused on what you want, lock in your vision, declare it to be yours and take daily action to get there.
