Reese Witherspoon Reveals How She Embarrasses Her 'Wonderful' Kids

"Ava's like, 'Oh my god, you have got to stop.'"

Whether it includes supporting her work or helping her keep up with the latest lingo, Reese Witherspoon's kids are there to help.

In an interview with Jenna Bush Hager for Today, the Oscar-winning actress opened up about her family. Witherspoon has a 16-year-old daughter, Ava, and a 12-year-old son, Deacon, with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. She also has a 3-year-old son named Tennessee with her husband, Jim Toth. In the interview, she said her three kids "come first, no matter what."

"My kids are wonderful," she said. "They’ve been so supportive of what I do as a filmmaker, what I’ve been doing as an entrepreneur."

They also keep her up to date with trendy acronyms even though Witherspoon's teen daughter finds it embarrassing when her mom uses "LOL" or "BRB."

"Ava's like, 'Oh my god, you have got to stop,'" Witherspoon joked.

Another embarrassing moment for the kids includes their mom's fun morning routine, fueled by a little caffeine. "Well I like to have dance party in the morning cause I drink coffee and then I have lots of energy and it's mortifying to my children," she said.

All embarrassment aside, Witherspoon voiced her appreciation for her family, including her grandparents.

"My grandmother was a first-grade teacher at a public school over here in Nashville," she said. "From the time I was 3 years old, she’d sit me on her lap and she’d read to me for an hour a day in all the different voices of all the characters."

Sounds like a perfect family tradition.
