They may disagree over how old they are, but Sesame Street's two radically different best buds do have one thing in common: Neither one of them has a job. Bert and Ernie instead spend their days teaching children about numbers and letters, and going on adventures -- and while that can be considered work, the friends recently revealed to "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" that they each have their sights set on very specific career paths.
"I have thought about starting my own network," Bert admits in the above video. "I'd call it: Bert's Book Club. Yeah, it would be 24 hours of me reading."
Ernie seems on board with the concept. "Hey, that sounds like a great idea, Bert. You could read stories to everyone," he says.
However, that's not quite what Bert had in mind. "No, no, no, I would silently read to myself," he clarifies. "People can watch me. I'm a really intense reader."
Ernie's career plans are a little more exuberant.
"You know what would be the best job ever?" he says, excitedly. "Being a clown! That's what I'm going to do, Bert. I'm going to go to school and I'm going to learn to be a clown. I'm going to go to clown school, Bert! Wouldn't that be great?"
"Yeah, I don't think you need to go to clown school. You're enough of a clown already," Bert tells him.
Ernie is undeterred. "Gee, thanks, old buddy," he says, sincerely.
