Theophilus London (L) with fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff on the runway after the designer's fall 2012 show at The Theatre at Lincoln Center.

VF Daily ran into dapper Theophilus London in the front row at Rebecca Minkoff's show on snowy Friday afternoon, where we discussed the rapper's Halloween costume, having an entourage, and his driver's license--or lack thereof. Highlights:

VF Daily: There's a snowstorm today. Any good snow stories? Ever get stuck sleeping at an airport, or fall off your skis or anything?

Theophilus London: In Hurricane Sandy, I was stuck in Utah, and that wasn't fun. It was, like, around Halloween, you know, for Halloween I was going to be a regular Joe. I went to a regular mall, bought some, like, regular clothes.

That was going to be your costume--average clothing?

Yeah. A huge blazer, a hat, I don't know. But better is just to stay in the house all day, by the heater, with a girl, cuddled up watching films is how I'd want to spend a blizzard.

Do you ever do any snow sports, like skiing or snowboarding?

No. I'm not really good at skiing or snowboarding, or swimming, per se. You know, I only, like, stay in the studio and come to fashion shows. [Laughs.] I've got to get my real skills up, like, I got to get my skills up, 'cause in case of a crazy catastrophe, I might have to learn how to swim.

You don't know how?

No, G. No, I just learned how to ride a bike at 10. You know, I just focus on art way more than anything else life-related.

Did you grow up in New York?

Yes, I did.

So do you drive?

Yeah.

Do you have a license?

I don't have a license, but I do drive. [Laughs.] That's not cool, but, uh, in L.A., when I have to go to the studio . . . I just want to drive myself sometimes.

You just do it anyway.

Yeah. But I don't want anyone to think that's the right thing to do. I've got my permit. I just, I'm in the studio so much, now I'll have to finally go and get it. But you know, in this type of art world, everyone tries to do everything for you, you know. Like, Rebecca's got people back there, cooking her eggs, helping her with everything, you know. They're kind of doing the same to me, so I'm losing some of my self-skills.
