'The Host' Trailer: Stephenie Meyer's 'Twilight' Follow-Up Introduces Your New Bella

Nov 13, 2012 | Updated Jan 13, 2013

Stephenie Meyer wrote a little phenomenon called the "Twilight" franchise, so it's no surprise that Meyer's next project, an adaptation of her 2008 novel "The Host," holds a lot of interest. In fact, despite being the property of another studio -- Open Road is releasing "The Host" in the spring of 2013 -- Summit allowed Meyer to debut a sizzle reel of her latest film during the "Breaking Dawn" panel at this year's Comic-Con.

With "Breaking Dawn Part 2" arriving on Friday, Open Road has prepared a new trailer for the film, an alien-invasion love triangle about Melanie (Saoirse Ronan), one of the last human beings on Earth, who gets torn away from Jared (Max Irons) when she's captured by the invading alien race and turned into a host for an alien called Wanderer. Will Melanie's inherent humanity win out or will Jared have to settle for some intergalactic make-out sessions? Find out when "The Host" arrives on March 29, 2013.
