'The Biggest Loser' Goes To Work As Ruben Studdard Shows Remarkable Weight Loss (VIDEO)

'Biggest Loser': Ruben Studdard's Remarkable Weight Loss

As has become its new format, "The Biggest Loser" checked in with last week's eliminated contestant. That meant viewers got to see how "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard was faring after his second time being eliminated from the show. And it looks like he's doing great. He's nearly doubled his weight loss since leaving the show -- he's now down 112 pounds.

“The biggest thing that I gained from ‘The Biggest Loser’ was the opportunity to get my life back and that was for me was the biggest second chance they could’ve ever given me," Ruben said. He said he currently weights about 350 pounds, and is committed to weighing less than 300 by the finale.

Buddy TV's Eva Des Lauriers is hoping for more than a trim waistline from the Velvet Teddy Bear. She's rooting for a musical performance. And considering how much the show focused on Ruben's career, this seems pretty likely.

As for the rest of the show, Jillian Michaels' team had to spend the week working in a diner, and they still managed to win the weigh-in. They proved that you can find time to work out and lose weight no matter how busy you are -- especially if you have Jillian Michaels yelling at you when you get home!

"The Biggest Loser" airs its mid-season finale on Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
