Steve Harvey Laughs Off Miss Universe Error In Merry Messages

Steve Harvey has followed up incorrectly naming Miss Colombia and not Miss Philippines as Miss Universe with a Merry Easter greeting at Christmas.

But don't worry, the comedian and talkshow host is only poking fun at himself -- or at least we hope.

Harvey posted a snap of himself to Facebook and Twitter on Friday.

"Merry Easter y'all," he captioned the Christmas Day image, which shows him flicking a "V" sign by a swimming pool with a cigar in his mouth.

The lighthearted post went down well with fans, who have "liked" it more than 2 million times on Facebook and retweeted it more than 200,000 times on Twitter.

Harvey's beauty pageant blunder, when he misread the cue card at Sunday's contest, made headlines across the world.

But it doesn't seem to have dented his standing with the Miss Universe organization, with reports he's been signed up in a multi-year deal to host future shows.

Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, meanwhile, has reportedly been offered a $1 million porn contract following her briefest of reigns, although there's no word on whether she'll accept the deal.
