'Obamacar'e Heroin Is Appparently A Thing Now

Getting Americans hooked up with Obamacare has been a big problem, but in the case of "Obamacare" heroin, that's a good thing.

Massachusetts state police seized hundreds of bags of heroin stamped with the with bizarre name "Obamacare" on Friday, according to Yahoo Finance. Along with the dope named after the controversial healthcare plan, police seized bags labeled "Kurt Cobain."

The individual packets, 1,250 in total, were confiscated during a traffic stop in Hatfield, Mass. The car had been pulled over after an alert state trooper "observed several violations," according to a statement on the state police's Facebook page.

During the stop, evidence of illegal narcotics led to a request for a State Police K9. Trooper David Stucenski and K9 Frankie located 1,250 individual bags of heroin in the vehicle.

Following the strange discovery, Tyler Robenstein, 23, of Colchester, Vt., was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin, conspiracy to violate the drugs laws, possession to distribute a Class A substance, speeding, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to change lanes for an emergency vehicle, reports NBC Connecticut.

The car's three passengers -- Marquese Jones, 22, and Sherod Green, 24, both of Newark, N.J., and Ashley Beaulieu, 21, of Colchester, Vt. -- were all charged with trafficking in heroin, conspiracy to violate the drugs laws and possession to distribute a Class A substance.

While heroin is often stamped with words or symbols to identify where it came from and who's dealing it, Massachusetts State police Lt. Daniel Richard said he's never heard of the "Obamacare" brand before, reports the Associated Press.
