Neil Patrick Harris is currently hanging out with his blue buddies in this summer's "The Smurfs 2," but he might end up making other things black and blue if he uses his method for tucking that he described on his latest trip to Conan O'Brien's talk show.
Harris' hit sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother" is about to begin its ninth and final season on CBS, but afterwards he'll trade the sitcom stage for the Broadway stage as he prepares to star in the Broadway premiere of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." While making the talk show rounds for "The Smurfs" sequel, Harris swung by Conan where he talked about his new Broadway role and how he prepares to transform into the show's title character Hedwig, a German transgender rock-punk performer.
While giving Conan and his co-host Andy Richter a crash course lesson in how to transform into a woman, Harris gives helpful hints about shaving your eyebrows and how to properly tuck male... accessories.
While the actor suggests using duct tape (ouch!), a staple among seasoned drag performers, we're sure he'll find an easier way to create the illusion once he graces the stage after "How I Met Your Mother" has wrapped. Of course Conan and Richter take the "tuck your junk" joke and run with it, so make sure to watch the video above as they joke about Conan's new product "The Wiener Keeper."
Harris may not be the first name that comes to mind when casting Hedwig, the classic role created by John Cameron-Mithcell, do you think it's smart casting? Sound off in the comments below!
