Most Romantic Destinations: Readers' Choice (PHOTOS)

According to HuffPost readers.

Though there are plenty of lists dedicated to naming the world's most romantic spots -- heck we certainly have them here -- we were wondering what places you, dear reader, find most heart-swelling.

And, as Valentine's Day approaches, we know there's no underestimating the power of a romantic locale. As a new study sponsored by the U.S. Travel Association shows, a traveling couple is a happy couple.

"Couples who take time to vacation alone together at least once each year report happier, healthier relationships overall compared to those who do not travel as couples," Pam Loeb, principal of Edge Research, who conducted the survey, said in a press release.

According to the survey, 63 percent of couples said a weekend getaway is more likely to spark romance than gifts. And, 77 percent of respondents who traveled as a couple said they had a good sex life, compared with 63 percent for those who do not travel as a couple. Of course, it doesn't hurt that 59 percent of couples said that being more intimate is an important reason to take a vacation a deux.

So, in a highly scientific Facebook poll of our social community, we asked the all-important question: What's the most romantic destination you've ever visited? And, your answers didn't disappoint. Responses ranged from Kansas to Kenya, but a handful stood out the most.

It looks like Paris is the most loved destination for love, with Venice and Santorini close behind. Other top picks included Jamaica, Hawaii, Bora Bora, Aruba, and Bali.
