Michelle Malkin Slams Obama's Syria Stance As 'Flippant, Arrogant, Contemptuous'

Conservative Correspondent Slams Obama's 'Flippant, Arrogant, Contemptuous' Syria Stance

Conservative correspondent Michelle Malkin slammed President Barack Obama's "flippant, arrogant, contemptuous" stance on Syria Wednesday night.

Malkin appeared on the Fox News program "The Sean Hannity Show" to discuss the growing debate over action against Syria. Earlier in the day, Obama said the U.S. had found the Syrian government to be responsible for conducting a deadly chemical weapons attack on its own citizens.

According to an AP report:

Obama administration officials said they would take action against the Syrian government even without the backing of allies or the United Nations because diplomatic paralysis must not prevent a response to the alleged chemical weapons attack outside the Syrian capital last week.

Malkin suggested that Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry were hypocrites for having "spittle and fleck and foam at the mouth talking about the need for congressional approval" for the Iraq War while they were potentially willing to take action against Syria without congressional approval. According to Obama, he has not made any decisions yet.

Senior members of the Obama administration plan to brief congressional leaders on Thursday, Reuters reported.

TIME's Jay Newton-Small offered a counter-argument to Malkin and Hannity, pointing out that "[Saddam] Hussein’s alleged WMD stockpiles were never found. In this case, the international community has, with the exception of Russia and Iran, accepted and condemned the use of chemical gas in Syria last week that killed as many as 1,300 people."
