MAC's New Troll Dolls Collection Is Equal Parts Neon And Nostalgia

Hold on to your Lisa Frank backpacks, people.

Lest you needed further convincing that the '90s are back in full force, MAC Cosmetics is here to prove it.

The vibrant brand, which most recently made waves for a line of Selena-inspired makeup, announced its newest collaboration Tuesday: A Good Luck Trolls collection of the highest bejeweled belly button caliber.

MAC's Good Luck Trolls collection will feature a broad range of lipsticks, eyeshadows, glitters and more in bold colors reminiscent of the iconic troll doll hair, with appropriate names like Sushi Kiss, Bubble Butt and Twerkoise.

Troll dolls, which debuted in 1959 and reemerged as beloved childhood toys for kids in the '80s and '90s, too, are back in the limelight now thanks to an upcoming animated feature film scheduled for release in November. The makeup line, which is slated to debut in August, gives fans ample time to be fully prepared for opening night.

In a press release from the brand, senior vice president and group creative director James Gager explained why MAC chose the beloved dolls as inspiration for a new line.

"The Good Luck Trolls have evoked love and joy since the 1960s. We are so happy we can put the spotlight on them again," he said.

We have a feeling this collection, which debuts in August of 2016, is going to go faster than you can say "How rude!"
