It's official: the days of Kate Middleton and Prince William theme-dressing are over. For now, at least.
After an eventful royal tour of Asia, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now in the midst of their short North East tour of the UK. Kate kicked off the sight-seeing yesterday by suiting up in a sophisticated Paule Ka ensemble to launch a new scholarship. Today's activities, however, called for a more weather-appropriate look.
Kate and Will met members of the England football team during the opening of the Football Association's National Football Centre at St. George's Park in Burton Upon Trent. The couple were given a tour of the 330 acre facilities and then stayed to watch the team practice. If Kate's anything like us, then we're sure she had a question or two about the whole offside thing...
So what does a duchess wear to meet footballers on a gloomy day? Kate opted for an olive green belted Reiss coat and black knee-high boots. We suspect Reiss wont mind being on the receiving end of "The Duchess Effect" yet again. Kate's been known to choose the High Street retailer for some pretty important appearances (her engagement photos, meeting Michelle Obama and her first speech, to name a few), and the frocks are almost guaranteed to sell out after her appearance.
The next stop for Kate is Newcastle where she'll be touring by herself on Wednesday. Prince William will be attending the funeral for his former childhood nanny Olga Powell.
