Jurnee Smollett-Bell Previews 'True Blood' Season 6 Role (VIDEO)

From 'Cosby' To 'True Blood'

Jurnee Smollett-Bell has been on some of TV's top shows from "Full House" to "Friday Night Lights" and she's adding a gory one to that list: "True Blood."

The former "Cosby" actress stopped by HuffPost Live to discuss her new movie, Tyler Perry's "Temptation," and spilled some details about her new "True Blood" gig.

"I'm super excited about it," she said (above). "My character Nicole is ... an activist who comes to Louisiana to help with 'the cause.'"

Smollett-Bell couldn't reveal too much else, but did hint at the involvement of animals and "some biting."

For its upcoming season, "True Blood" has also added "90210" alumna Amelia Rose Blaire as Willa, Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell's (Arliss Howard) daughter, who clashes with her father over vampire rights, TVLine previously reported. Rutger Hauer will also join "True Blood" Season 6 as the sinister Macklyn who has mysterious ties to Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten), according to EW.

No official premiere date for "True Blood" Season 6 has been announced.

Watch the video below for Smollett-Bell's thoughts on a "Friday Night Lights" movie.
