When it comes to getting through hard times, Sherri Shepherd, Emmy Award-Winning Cohost of The View, had some great advice to share with us about being strong and resilient.
From being homeless, to feeling constrained by her religion as a Jehovah’s witness, Sherri has been through some incredibly hard times in her life. “I've lived on people's couches. I got evicted three times, my car got re-possessed, you name it,” she told us.
After Sherri had a child, she became much more responsible and took charge of her life. She also recalled some excellent advice her grandmother gave to her when she was in financial trouble. “My grandma would say to me, ‘Your name is your credit.' People have to be able to depend on you."
Some other mantras Sherry now abides by: "Integrity is important." "This too shall pass." "There is light at the end of the tunnel." "Keep walking." "I can’t take care of tomorrow's troubles, so focus on today."
