Local CBS reporter Carter Evans found himself in the center of the shootout between police and Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer who is suspected of killing at least three people.
The harrowing audio of the firefight rocketed around the Internet on Tuesday night. By Wednesday morning, Dorner was presumed to have died in a burned-out cabin, though the LAPD would not confirm that he was dead.
On Wednesday, CBS News released new footage of the firefight, which was shot by Evans. The footage shows officers exchanging fire with Dorner, as well as the smoke and flames emanating from the area.
The footage shows that Evans was a very lucky reporter -- right in the middle of the action.
