The ad proved to be a tearjerker. OWN president Sheri Salata — who tweeted, "I'm crying over the [Clydesdale] reunion shot" — was one of many viewers who teared up over the commercial. Rob Mosely, sportswriter for The Register-Guard in Oregon, also tweeted:

The commercial came in first place in USA Today's Ad Meter hours after the Super Bowl. Executives at Anheuser-Busch were happy with their performance on Sunday night, according to the paper. Paul Chibe, vice president of U.S. marketing, told USA Today that the ad "touches a chord" in consumer hearts.
