"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast member Brandi Glanville, says joining the show helped ease her financial problems, after her divorce left her with next to nothing.
The former model told the New York Post that she was close to broke after husband Eddie Cibrian left her for singer LeAnn Rimes in 2009.
“I was a 36-year-old woman who couldn’t lease a car and couldn’t lease a house. For 13 years, my name wasn’t on one account. I am still building my credit," she told the newspaper. “We were living way above our means in a 10,000-square-foot house. There wasn’t a lot to get, honestly.”
The 39-year-old and her two children have since moved to a single-story home in the San Fernando Valley, and since Glanville has no credit history she explained that she had to pay the entire year's rent upfront, and get her father to co-sign.
She also revealed that though she and her ex-husband have tried to bury the hatchet, they still remain in a legal dispute as Cibrian, refuses to give their two sons permission to appear on the reality show.
Glanville is happy the show has helped pull her out of financial problems, but tells the Post:
“I am treating this show as a platform and a window. If it is gone tomorrow, I made the most of it. I joke that I whore myself out to anyone that will pay me. But that is kind of what is happening.”
