We actually just don't know anymore. What we have to share with you today is confusing us so deeply, we're nearly beyond sarcasm (nearly!). We are talking about an automatic pancake machine. Let that sink in -- fresh, hot pancakes, directly from robot to human, with no actual cooking required. Sort of.
This particular machine is made by the POPCAKE company, and makes mini, medium and large pancakes, cooked to whatever doneness you desire. What's the catch? Oh, the catch is that it costs $3,700 and is probably more trouble than it's worth.
If you, like us, are having a not insignificant amount of trouble figuring out how this thing works, we found the POPCAKE Automatic Pancake Machine training video, because a) safety first and b) we just want you guys to have a laugh today. Actual pancake-making finally commences around the 2:55 mark, if you want to skip ahead.
We are not idiots, so we realize that although this seems unnecessarily complex in the video, once you've done it a few times, you'll get the hang of it. We also realize that this is likely meant for high-output food service environments, and not the home cook who just really loves pancakes, but hates to cook them. Regardless of the venue, we cannot escape the feeling that just a) making pancakes or b) hiring someone to make pancakes would be infinitely simpler. Another thing the Automatic Pancake Machine lacks in comparison to actual, human cooking: butter! Griddling pancakes in butter is one of life's greatest pleasures. If you buy this contraption, you're depriving yourself of that. And also 3,700 of your dollars.
There is a better way, everyone. We already invented it. It's called "making pancakes." Here are some recipes.
