Husbands and wives often get annoyed when their spouses repeat themselves for what seems like the 100th time, but not Lauren and David Blair.
These lovebirds from Henderson, Tenn., first exchanged "I Dos" in the summer of 1984 in Topanga Canyon, Calif.
Since then, Lauren, 60, and David, 58, have renewed their vows 99 times, each ceremony taking place in a different location, the latest being at the Hard Rock Cafe in Honolulu, Hawaii on Oct. 2.
As a result, they have set a Guinness World Record for "Most Marriage Vow Renewals by the Same Couple," breaking a record they have been setting and re-setting since their 66th vow renewal in 2001.
The couple does so many renewals in order to recapture that initial moment of bliss, according to Lauren.
"We were both in long-term relationships in the past that didn't work out," Lauren said. "We knew we were meant for each other and wanted to continually share that vow experience. I love to look into David's eyes as he is repeating his vows. I know that this man will love me until the day I die.
"Of course, David will tell you that he does it for the honeymoons!"
The couple first met in 1982 and were instantly smitten with each other. Their first date came two days later and within three months, David had proposed. The course to true love being rarely smooth, Lauren actually said no the first time.
However, they are now on a roll and do not plan on stopping. In fact, they are currently planning for a new milestone.
