Jeffery Pettigrew Dead: Nevada Casino Shootout Leaves Hell's Angel Dead, Two Injured

Hell's Angel Dies In Casino Shootout

A Friday night shootout at a Nevada Casino between the Hell's Angels and a rival motorcycle club left one man dead and another behind bars.

Sparks police found Jeffery "Jethro" Pettigrew, chapter president of the San Jose Hell's Angels, dead on the floor at John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort Friday night after responding to reports of gunfire, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

The gunfight between the Hell's Angels and Vagos Motorcycle Club broke out around 11:26 p.m., police told the paper. The bikers were in town for the annual "Street Vibrations" festival, billed as "a celebration of music, metal, and motorcycles."

Two other Vagos members, later identified as Leonard Ramirez, 45, and Diego Garcia, 28, were in stable condition after suffering shots to the abdomen and leg, respectively, according to the Reno Gazzette-Journal.

"This incident could definitely result in retaliation against the Vagos, and a full-blown war that may result in deadly violence in San Jose and throughout California." San Jose police Sgt. Larry Day told the Mercury News.

Following the incident, police arrested Cesar Villagrana, a 36-year-old Hell's Angel. Surveillance footage shows Villagrana wielding a firearm on the casino floor, however police are still unable to confirm whether any of his shots struck the victims, CNN reports.

Authorities charged Villagrana with carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, aiming a firearm at another, aiming or discharging a firearm where a person is endangered, and possession of a stolen property/firearm. He is being held at the Washoe County Jail on $500,000 bail.
