Now that "Kate Plus 8" has officially been cancelled, Kate Gosselin tells me that although she will certainly miss the paycheck from being on TV she will not miss the fame that went along with it.
“I just screamed at [the paparazzi] today,” the famous TV mom tells me. “And I said go away leave me alone. Go and photograph somebody else. Every day they leave me alone it’s a great day. If I have a job and it doesn’t go with paparazzi, great.”
Gosselin doesn’t buy the argument that the media attention was part of the profession she chose and says it’s the only part of her TV job that she couldn’t stand.
“If I could minus that part it would be the best thing ever. And I will tell you why -- they are only harmful,” she tells me. “They don’t tell the truth. Its always, like they will post I was out running and I didn’t run. Even little dishonesty like that. They never post the truth so how is that helpful to me?”
And while her critics maintain that Gosselin has enjoyed every second of her fame -- and all the perks that go along with it -- they also admit that finding another job to pay the bills while being so high-profile isn’t going to be easy.
“I would [get any job] if I had to,” Gosselin says. “I’m sure it would be hard but I would not let [fame] stop me from paying my kids' bills. I’m certainly not using it as an excuse. I would work it out. It is what it is and the bottom line is I have eight kids to provide for so I would figure it out.”
