Everyone knows the single most coveted voting demographic in San Francisco is bike hipsters.
Well, after the old people who actually vote in every election, food truck proprietors and the crucial second and third place votes of the 40 other mayoral candidates.
It looks like progressive favorite Supervisor John Avalos is gunning squarely for the bike hipster vote with this video released by his campaign featuring shots of the candidate biking around the city, participating in the SF Bike Party (aka the polite version of Critical Mass) and doing some minor maintenance on his ride.
All the action in the clip is set to the song "Future" by hip Australian indie-pop sensation Cut Copy.

This video isn't the first time Avalos has catered to the bike crowd in recent months. The supervisor, who admits to having had three bikes stolen during his tenure in San Francisco, is in the process of drafting legislation requiring business owners to allow their employees to bring bikes into the office if there is no on-site bike parking.
Avalos's bike is covered with stickers from the San Francisco Bike Coalition, but it remains to be seen if the lefty politician will receive the coalition's blessing in his quest toward Room 200. The deadline for candidates seeking the Bike Coalition's endorsement to return a questionnaire from the organization is this week. The responses will be posted online for coalition members to vote on this coming Tuesday and the official endorsements are scheduled to be released in mid-September.
"A lot of bike-friendly candidates are running this year," said Bike Coalition Executive Director Leah Shahum. "It's very exciting."
