For my generation, 1990s alt-rock was a golden era of music. It was an era in which rock music actually landed into the mainstream and could be heard without having to look for it on the Internets. Pearl Jam. Nirvana. STP. The list goes on and on when one thinks of influential bands from that decade. Filter also come to mind, and they're still very much around and very amazing. The band's front man Richard Patrick recently chatted with A-Sides about their upcoming new album Crazy Eyes as well as their longevity in the industry. Watch below. Its a very nice shot.

Matt Sucich doesn't sound anything like Filter. He's paired with Patrick here because it's a lovely contradiction. Good music is good music whether it's heavy, light, poignant, loud, or middle of the road. Last year, this gifted NYC singer/songwriter dropped a bunch of singles and compiled it into an album entitled Stripping For The Blind/A Short Form Collection of Songs. He recently sat down for a chat and performed a pair of songs filmed at the Music Conservatory of Westchester by Alye Carlevaro.
