When it comes to relationships, Ryan Reynolds isn't exactly an open book. In fact, except for a few passing comments, Reynolds has remained tight-lipped about his divorce from Scarlett Johansson, which was finalized last month.
But that didn't stop his co-star Jason Bateman from bringing up the touchy subject on "The View" Thursday morning, where the pair was promoting their new film "The Change-Up." Bateman slipped in the D-word while praising Reynold's poise and professionalism.
"This guy, if you read the papers, he went through some tough stuff," Bateman said. "But not once did anybody have any sniff something was wrong...he went through a divorce while we were shooting."
Reynolds, who seemed caught off guard, recovered quickly with a one-liner of his own.
"It's because I'm dead inside," he joked.
The actor, named People magazine's "Sexiest Men Alive" in 2010, has not been too lucky in love as of late. After splitting with Scarlett Johansson in December of 2010, Reynolds was reportedly linked to Sandra Bullock, his co-star in "The Proposal," and German model Agnes Fischer, though rumors of those dalliances faded quickly.
Even his alleged summer romance with Charlize Theron, to whom he was linked last month, has ended, "US Weekly" reports. According to the magazine, Theron wanted to settle down and get serious, but Reynolds was more interested in keeping things casual.
